This has some good lessons on what to include in your outline, even though it wasn't the “this is how you outline” kind of lesson I had expected. It was still quite helpful. My favorite of the set was the final lesson, which showed how you can get a lesson in plot and outlining by looking at the DVD chapter selection for a movie you’re already familiar with.

Helpful set of exercises focused on worldbuilding... though since I'm working on an Urban Fantasy, they weren't as helpful to me as if I'd been writing a fantasy or science fiction novel. Still worth going through for the ideas and reminders, though.

This is a good way to look at the characters in your story project. The exercises worked for me for this story; your mileage may vary.

I am finding this writing course to be really helpful to me so far. I've been needing a "reset" in terms of my writing process, and following the blueprint Gifford has laid out is working right now. The weekly format, with weekly assignments, means I can work on my novel in manageable pieces.
