Ian Gordon is a management consultant with over twenty years of marketing and strategy experience. He is President of Convergence Management Consultants Ltd. (www.converge.on.ca), where he leads the firm's Competitor Targeting and Customer Relationship Management practices. His clients include firms of varying sizes in many industries.

Before founding Convergence Management Consultants, Ian was a Senior Partner with Ernst & Young, Toronto, where he led the marketing, research, and strategy practice, and that firm's focus on serving technology companies. He has held senior management positions with multinational consumer products and software marketing companies.

Ian has conducted open market seminars for BusinessWeek Executive Programs, and is the author of two other books, Beat the Competition: How to Use Competitive Intelligence to Develop Winning Business Strategies, and the best-selling Relationship Marketing: New Strategies, Techniques and Technologies to Win the Customers You Want and Keep Them Forever (John Wiley & Sons). Ian has documented his views in over eighty articles that have appeared in leading North American and Pacific Rim magazines. He is an Electrical Engineer, MBA, founding President of the Association for the Advancement of Relationship Marketing (AARM), a founding member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), a Past-President of the Industrial Marketing and Research Association of Canada, and lectured for over ten years in marketing and strategy to undergraduate and MBA students at York University in Toronto. Ian speaks frequently to open-market forums, industry associations, and senior management groups in private sector companies.
