Gail Harland

An inspiring garden book for informal, rural and urban garden spaces. The presentation is superb: the author writes in such an encouraging manner, that the ideas really feel achievable by amateurs. I particularly like her advice in each topic which focus on sensible ideas. Some favourite topics were:
*the Courtyard garden
*the Secret garden
*the Scented garden

There's a charming section on divisions and boundaries, like hedging, paths and gates. The photography contributes greatly to the book's appeal. Granted Harland really writes for a more temperate climate than my Prairie 2b regime, but there are many applicable concepts.… (meer)
