I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have wanted to read Scott Harper’s books for a while now, and I am glad I finally did! “Predator or Prey?” was overall a good book that I will rate 4 STARS.

This book consists of lots of action, horror, and gore. I love reading my Paranormal Romance books with the sexy vampires, but I also like to read stories with the gory and definitely undead looking vampires too. “Predator or Prey?” had the gory vampires! These vampires are following main characters Wendy Markland and her boyfriend Jacob around from town to town. Wendy and Jacob work as vampire hunters – except it is all a scam because they don’t even believe that vampires exist. Well, they never knew they existed until one night when the vampires caught up to them. Find out what happens between the vampires, and Wendy and Jacob. Also, learn how they handle realizing that vampires are not just make-believe.

I enjoyed the page-turning action of “Predator or Prey?” and the horror of the vampires. I was not very thrilled about the actual traits of the characters though I enjoyed their part in the story – if that makes any sense? I liked the story of the “vampire hunters” becoming hunted by the vampires. I liked the role the characters played. I just did not enjoy how Wendy dragged her younger brother with her everywhere they went for these vampire-hunting scams. I know it was just a story, but as a mother and aunt I just hate when children are mistreated. Also, I felt Wendy was to stuck-up – though she grew on me by the end of the novel. Lastly, Jacob was just not my kind of man!

Scott Harper definitely got a reaction out of me with “Predator or Prey?” and that is what I look for in a good book! I love having my emotions show while reading a book – for whatever reason. I will continue to read this series and other books by Scott Harper as well.
