Robin was This book was a okey description about his life, but it felt more like a Wikipedia article than a memorable book about robin - an amazing and fantastic genius, quick with jokes and funny replies. The author also included a LOT of movie descriptions! Frankly, the book was quite boring, which is sad since robin was so amazing, and had an interesting story :/

Emily Herbert specialises in celebrity biographies and this is not one of her top rated works on Goodreads or LibraryThing. (For the record, her top-rated works are her biographies of Robin Williams and Lady Gaga.) She does a decent job of making bricks out of straw here, and explains the history of Doctor Who rather well to a target audience whose interest may be less than obsessive. But the really interesting biography (or autobiography) of Matt Smith will be written a couple of decades from now.… (meer)

It was okay, well written, but sparse in areas. It seemed to play off the "needy" aspect quite strongly at first, to the point that I almost put it down, then let up as it got more into his career. It wasn't nearly as comprehensive as the other biography I read by Dave Itzkoff. I think this was written as quickly as possible after Robin Williams passed away, it makes no mention of his misdiagnosis of Parkinson's disease. The impression I got is the material was sourced via the media, which isn't a problem, but seemed to lack a personal touch. It did contain one aspect that was missing from Dave Itzkoff's biography and that was Robin's love of video games. If you want a quick rundown, then this book is fine. If you want a more in-depth look, then Itzkoff's book is the way to go.… (meer)
