This book documents the rise of what we might call the "the New Spirituality." That is to say, the remaking of Christianity, specifically, in the image of man and his desires for a generic religious experience. The author communicates the often confusing rise of critical thought within the Western church with great clarity. There is a lot of modern historical theology here, accompanied by insights into the spiritualism of, say, Oprah!

good overview of the topic, but this book is a prime example of over editing. seriously, the sentences have been so obviously overwrought that the whole thing ends up sounding like it was written for 5th graders.

Argumentation: Understanding and Shaping Arguments is a standard book for people who want to go into law school or for people who want to understand arguments and logic better. The books is filled with definitions and examples that explain the concepts, as well as exercises for practicing those concepts.
