Hilarious, relatable, endearing. I laughed out loud several times, and have read it more than once. There is some profane language and a bit of slightly suggestive content.

A humerous and interesting story of how Dom Holland's son, Tom (aka Spiderman) became a Hollywood star after playing Billy Elliott on stage in London. At the same time Tom's star was in the ascendancy, Dom's putative career as a film screenwriter was in freefall, a story told without rancour or jealousy or a strong push from parents wishing to play out a glitzy life through their offspring.

I read this book with high expectations, too high perhaps, after hearing the author at the launch of Tring Book Festival, when he was very witty and engaging. The early part of the book appears to have been bypassed by his editor/proof reader with numerous typos and grammatical errors but did improve later. This inevitably coloured my judgement of the book. The story is one of redemption of the main charactor and mostly set in parts of London with which I'm familiar, adding a plus point. I especially enjoyed his description of Selfridges, one of my regular haunts up until 2012. Ultimately though the book disappointed me.… (meer)
