The Lies of Gravity is a quick MM romance read. Luke is visiting from London for the wedding of a friend. He is a bit at odds and feels the need to kick around for a while. He has some idea that he will travel the States getting part-time jobs to sustain him while scoping out new ideas for his restaurant/pub back home. He lands in NYC and immediately finds a place where he could fit, at least until it is time to go home.

Freddie is a playboy, not take anything too seriously kind of guy. He has a great job in reception at a NY hotel and good friends that try to push him out of his comfort zone a bit. He isn’t looking for anything more than a good time and his attraction to Luke, with its built-in time limit seems the perfect way to spend some time. Neither of them is prepared for the feelings they are about to unleash on one another.

I think these men are made for each other and I definitely feel for each of them as they work on their prior issues. My favorite trope is that of the found family, which this story has in spades. The secondary characters add all the spice and seasoning to keep this story moving forward in interesting ways. I am looking forward to the next book, The Sins of Silence.

Tangled Web wasn't a horrible book, but it definitely lacked depth. I felt like the opportunity was there to expand, but it seemed as though the content was more of a novel outline and less of a completed book. The characters were well developed, but I kept hoping for more of a back story. I can't help but think that I would have felt more of a connection with the characters if the time was spent on explaining what happened between the Walker & Johnson families. Knowing what severed their relationship, all those years ago, would have made it easier to relate and/or choose side.

This is a cliffhanger. So, there were quite a few things left unresolved.....which I'm not a huge fan. I'm not giving up on Lizzie James, or the Johnson's & Walkers. I'm hopeful that the next book will provide us with everything that this one lacked....
