I don't know why I asked for this LibraryThing Early Reviewer book. Maybe because I like reading about politics, or maybe the name "Trudeau" had something to do with it. Canadian politics aren't that popular in Belgian (or European) news bulletins, but Justin Trudeau appears once in a while. I don't know if there are any books about him yet, but here 's one about his dad, who was prime minister in the seventies and eighties.

It wasn't until the very end that I realised this book is actually ment for young adults. That explains the short chapters and the lack of any political themes. The fact that Trudeau liked to go canoeing, seems more important than any of his achievements for Canadian society. Why would you write a book about a statesman, if you don't even talk about politics? Even to young people you can try to explain how Trudeau changed Canada. (For anyone who's wondering, you don't learn much about Justin either.)… (meer)
