I normally don't do biographies, much less autobiographies, but I like the clothing (I first purchased them when they just started their relationship with Thinkgeek) so probably bought it just because of who it was. It was actually for the most part quite funny and easy to read. I have no doubt he wrote it himself and did not hire a ghost writer or anything like that. This is pure Scott.
He is a shameless promoter, if you ever interacted with him, you would already know that so that is throughout the book. If you are expecting anything humble, don't read it. If you don't mind or don't care or are used to Scott being... well... Scott, well you will like it.
Based on some of the amazon reviews, I think people were expecting this to have more solid business advice, I don't think that is the take-away lesson from the book. The main take away is that you can do great things if you have a lot of passion for whatever it is. That is the POINT.
(For those who rated it low because it says "unauthorized," Scott is trying to be funny. While many of the times his jokes "land," sometimes they don't. He is a business man and a former lawyer, so pretty sure his classes did not include comedy.)… (meer)
