This book is a great example of a legend because it could include both fact and fiction. The story of the queen being very greedy could be real but then fairies and sorcerers are added into the mix to make it a legend.
Setting: The setting in this book is so important because it dates back to a time when queens and kings were still in the world. Also the story took place by the ocean and by the woods and this was essential for the fairies to enter the story and the story to take place.
