It's very refreshing to read an African travel book written by an African. This book is amusing and informative, without being as patronising as most travel books about Africa. It tries to look at Africa differently, and succeeds to some extent. Nevertheless, it is clear that an urban black South African is still somewhat removed from the experience of most Africans throughout the continent. Well worth reading.

A Cape to Cairo adventurer writen by an African explorer on a journey through his own continent. Humorous and irrevent. Engaging and delightful book.
