Summary: Leek is a rabbit who is sent to protect a human boy. An unlucky magic trick lands him in the land of Hat. The realm Leek is stuck in is ruled by cats, who have Dimmer-Dammers. Cecil Bean is the boy who Leek is supposed to protect. Cecil does whatever it takes to bring Leek back into the world of the Sun. This book shows what love and friendship can do.
Personal Reaction: I personally am not a fan of fantasy, it makes me think that all of this can happen which it cannot. I would recommend to this book to fantasy book lovers, it does a good job of veiling fantasy and friendship.
Classroom extension:
1.) I would have students come dressed as their favorite animal.
2.)I would have them incorporate their favorite animal to the story.… (meer)
