As a family prepares for Lunar New Year, Jin's grandmother and aunties fly around the kitchen "like bees." They invite the younger girls to help, but not Jin, because he's a boy. But Jin loves food and wants to help, and Mamah (grandma) welcomes him in, so the aunties allow it. The end result is more delicious than ever!

This was a great book to read. I have come from a culture where boys are not suppose to do certain things such as cook or clean because it is only a women’s job. I am glad that children are able to read and know they can do anything regardless of gender.
