This book is about four main characters. Their names are Oz, Kaia, Sarah and Analeigh. They are each teenagers and they are each training to become Historians.
When I think about time travel I usually think of Doctor Who. something simple without a lot of lingo that I can’t understand. When I usually read a book about time travel it is often the opposite. It is a lot of things I don’t understand. It is a lot of things I can’t make sense of and it severely makes the story lack that of what makes a story good. I didn’t have that problem with this book. This book wasn’t over run with words I didn’t understand but it wasn’t overly simple either.
Kaia is the mischief maker in the group and you learn that from early on. Oz and Sarah are both meant to be true loves and according to the book it isn’t often that you get to meet your one true love and be able to physically be with them. That more often then not they live and die a part of from you in a different lifetime. Sarah is also the tech genius of the group whereas Oz is the silent and shy kind of guy that seems to just go with the flow. Analeigh is Kaia’s best friend and without her I’m sure she wouldn’t have much of a conscience. It is almost like a Jumminey Cricket type relationship.
There is so much that happens within the pages of this book that I am bursting at my seems. I want more like hours ago when I had completed the book. I want to know what happens. I want to know what is going to happen. I want to know where this story is going. Right now it is a beautifully painted image of a world that is not Earth, but the inhabitants are trying to figure out what caused Earth the fail and that is why they have all these Historians in training. They have all these individuals that dedicate their life to time travel, to observe events and to try and see what’s been missed in the previous historical documents.
I also enjoyed the softer side of romance that was displayed within it’s pages. It wasn’t too little, too much, it was just right for me and I could re-read those scenes over and over and still feel the same way because they appear to be so real. I enjoy a book when the romance part isn’t forced and it seems to happen more naturally. Those to me make some of the best books, the ones worth reading.
I think the premise of the book is one that is worth being interested in. I think the author is brilliant. And I think I can’t wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this series to anyone that is interested in young adult, time travel type books.… (meer)
