An interesting collection of essays on Deir el Medina, the workmen's village near the Valley of the Kings. Not earth-shattering new discoveries, but it included some interesting new research on previously excavated finds. None of the essays are comprehensive -- this isn't a summation of work on Deir el Medina, but rather several scholars' delvings into particular aspects of that village and cemetery. Some of the essays, like Ward's, would probably only excite a specialist, but others, like those on religion and magic, would likely be of broader interest.
