This eighteen page pamphlet gives a brief history of Mila Tupper Maynard, who was probably the first woman minister in Nevada. She graduated from Cornell University in 1889 and was ordained as a Unitarian minister in 1890. She served in churches in Indiana and Michigan before coming to Reno in 1893 with her new husband, Rezin Maynard. The two became co-pastors of the Reno Unitarian church. Quoting from page four: "Clearly Rev. Mila was the most impressive of the two ministers while they were in Reno. ...'[S]he was a most dynamic leader and speaker in liberal causes, and a role model for young women. She even traveled to San Francisco to speak on workers' rights and womens' rights'"… (meer)
