This pamphlet about one of the great Christian mystics gives an introduction to Boehme's mystical ideas. Boehme, 1575-1624, a Christian mystic born into a Lutheran peasant family in Bohemia, wrote about 30 books and treatises that were influential among Reformation dissent, including in England in the 17th century. More recent thinkers, such as the American Transcendentalists, have treasured his vision of the universe, God, and man. It is also possible that contemporaries interested in the New Story of the universe will find intriguing parallels in Boehme's vision.… (meer)
