Asylum, Prison, and Poorhouse: The Writings and… door David L. Lightner
Interesting book on the life of Dorothea Dix. Although I applaud her noble efforts, I was appalled to discover her racist attitudes. Her ideas about race were no better than those she reprimanded for their ideas about the mentally, poor and criminal. Very good read!
