A most interesting take on the eco-disaster theme and one that could very well happen, given the way our environment is warping. Shur has been dealing with her mind imagining the absolute worst for years, so much so that she's taking medication to control the worst of it and has semi-resigned herself to have bad things pop into her life unexpectedly. When ever larger butterflies appear, starting while she's at school, little does she, or her sibling, and two best friends know that the creatures are going to create a world wide panic as well as attack people. If those people are lucky, they die, if they don't something far worse happens.
The teens, along with her little brother manage to get to their house, but are soon trapped inside. Read the book to find out what happens and how Shur's mental issues turn out to be a strength during this impossible time.
