Roy A. Martin

This book gives you some insight into the Nurnberg Trials and provides some exposure to the Nazi War Criminals that were being tried by the International Military Tribunal. It's written by one of the doctors, Roy A. Martin, M.D., assigned to care for those Nazi leaders held in the Nurnberg Prison. Dr. Martin arrived in Nurnberg on August 06, 1946. He was also at the executions of those sentenced to hang in October, 1946 and it was one of his duties, shared with Lieutenant Charles Roska, to offically pronounce (after examination) that the executed prisoners were dead. Dr. Martin cared for the remaining Nazi leaders for an additional 10 months while those prisoners were waiting to be transferred to Spandau Prison in Berlin, Germany in July, 1947.

I liked the book because Dr. Martin has shared his experiences in order to provide historical information. It provides yet another set of eyes that witnessed such a momentous and unforgettable period in our world's history.… (meer)
