The sacred Scripture deserves better reading than this. Though the narrator is a gifted performer, his dramatic accent and rapid pace are unfitted for this purpose.

Bible in its entirety. Max McLean's voice has a nice ring to it, but he tends to get overly dramatic in a distracting way. (Too many melodramatic pauses, etc.) Many people complain about this book not having chapter or book separations that you can flip through on the ipod. This is a fault of the audiobook, but didn't really bother me that much since I just listened to it from beginning to end, anyway. I wasn't trying to use it as reference material for finding particular passages.

NCLA Review - Max McLean is a professional reader and dramatic presenter of Scripture on stage and radio. You may be familiar with his narration of The Listener’s Bible, his Listen to the Bible radio program, and his readings of Mark’s Gospel, Genesis, and The Screwtape Letters recorded on DVD. McLean observes that during worship, reading of Scripture is not engaging when read by untrained, ungifted readers. Passionate reading of Scripture during worship prepares the congregation to engage with the message of the sermon. For this reason, he paired up with Rev. Dr. Warren Bird to write an outstanding how-to guide for selecting gifted speakers and training them to read Scripture aloud and elevate God’s spoken Word to a higher level. A DVD located inside the back cover includes: examples of readers reading Scripture, discussions of how to choose people for a Scripture Reading Team, explanation of how to prepare for readings, three readings and six dramatic presentations of Scripture by Max McLean. Rating: 4—BM
