Bill Merritt grew up in Atlanta during the post-war era, from 1945-1970. He holds an AB in English from Duke University, a BArch from the University of Oregon, and a JD from St. Louis University. If you have frequented the Portland, Oregon area and have zipped out to the North Coast, you will recognize the setting for this humorous, unusual tale about an inexperienced lawyer trying to clean up some strange cases leftover from his recently deceased senior partner. Yes, everything in the title is involved, and much more. This is NOT a formula read (I just finished an appalling Grisham book) and, for me, is far better than the reviews I have read. I am in search of Mr. Merritt's other book.
