This book was all about Penguins and how they live. It explained how penguins are from the Southern Hemisphere and mostly live in places such as Antartica where it is cold. It explained the mating habits of penguins and how the male birds are the ones who watch after the eggs until they hatch. It showed how once the eggs do hatch, the birds spend most of their time on ice and in the sea. It included interactive pages where the reader could flip gloss like pages to find even more facts about penguins. This book could be used to teach young children about penguins and animals that live in cold climates.

Though this book does not answer the question, which came first, the chicken or the egg, the transparency pages help to explain how the egg is formed inside the hen, and how the chick starts to grow. The book also explains how eggs of different birds and reptiles differ in size and shape.

The Egg is an informational book about eggs. It first goes through the process of a chicken egg becoming a chick and continues to talk about many types of eggs. The book is a wonderful little book that includes some very unique designs such as see-through pages.

This book is very short, but the pictures are interesting. The book is intended for very young audiences, probably pre-kindergarten or kindergarten. I will try to choose better books next time. I would recommend it for parents who read to their children because the book has really great pictures, including some clear pages that make the pictures look two different ways. It talked about the insides of birds, different types of birds, habitats of birds, etc. I believe this is a survey book because it is meant for a very young audience and just glances over a big topic. It does not delve into anything too abstract and difficult to conceptualize; the book keeps the topic of birds on a very surface level, which is great for younger audiences.

This book is about the Amazon Rainforest. The book includes a clear page in different places throughout the book that covers up the pictures to make it look like a rain forest. This book is intended for very young audiences—probably somewhere between pre-school and third grade. Some of the animal pronunciations would be a little difficult for younger students. Compared to some of the other books I have read, I think this is just an okay book. There really isn’t a story about the rainforest, but there are a lot of facts about what kind of animals live in the Amazonian rainforest.

This is an informative book on eggs that has a whole bunch of pictures of really cute baby chickens. It tells you about the different kinds of animals that lay eggs. It shows you the inside of a chicken egg before it hatches at two different stages of development. This is a good book for littler kids, who don't already know that chickens have to sit on their eggs to keep them warm.
