Summary:
A short informational book on a few different types of dinosaurs that used to roam the Earth millions of years ago. It explains a little about them as well as physical characteristics of them.

Personal Reaction:
I liked this book because it gives students an idea of how interesting dinosaurs were. Also if you're into that kind of thing, it gets you interested because not everyone realizes how large they actually were, so in the book it gives you details such as "It was as long as two railroad cars and could have looked over a three-story building."

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Allow the students to create their own fossils with clay. They can create their own bones, or body imprint of some sort, or even take a leaf and use that.
2. Hatching eggs (or melting); drop a toy dinosaur into a container (egg shaped or not), fill with water and allow them to freeze overnight. Bring to class, give one to each student and for fun, go outside and watch them melt revealing a cute little toy!

Starting the novel, it started a bit slow for my liking but there were some suspicisions lurking when I read about the hitman in the opening. Emily O'Brien (also known as Lee Walker as a crime reporter for Chicago Daily Journal later wrote for Winston Chronicles for educational bits) husband Alex was murdered while an inspector (cop) on duty. She wondered why no one has located his killer, and on his routine duty to pull over a speed driver to be shot and dead. She refused to let it rest until she discovered what happened or who was responsible for his death.

Her neighbor and good friend to help her get over losing her husband was Mattie and her husband Jeff with their two adorable kids. Craig intrudes and wants to be a part of Emily's life after Alex's death, who don't get along at all even though he was Alex's best buddy. He also divorced his wife Carolyn.

The story goes back and forth when Emily met Alex and other trials in their marriage with the good and bad, also current events of her talking and trying to find her husband's killer. She wants to take matters in her own hands. What I did like, most of the women were positive characters who handled their business both at home and at work.

"sometimes things are just so obviously meant to be that there is no use fighting it" (page 119, eBook).

Another part I enjoyed of the book was Alex's family was overly religious which scared him from the faith so when Emily found God, he shun away from her and their marriage was dissolving to where they didn't sleep together for awhile. Alex nearly got close to living the single life hanging out with his divorced friend, Craig--before his sudden death--thank heavens this married couple made up.

I had to read more than half of the book to be captured, and Rosemary once she spoke and hung out with Emily I loved her pizazz and sass out of all the characters mentioned in the novel. I noticed the author focused heavily on the character development and giving the main character Emily a voice but I was seeking more action/adventure and scope of the mystery itself.

The author provided an eBook copy for a review. Willing to Review Christian books group on Goodreads.
