A goofy and heavy-handed visual metaphor actually works quite well in this moving story about coming out and seeking acceptance in the face of relentless homophobia and bullying.

This one occasionally had weird tonal shifts towards mean spirited/dark/out-of-place-explicit, even though the overall message of it felt emotionally sensitive. Kind of a bummer because with a few alterations I think it’d be a totally appropriate and apt YA-friendly title that might appeal to those not interested in traditional BL. I did enjoy it overall and it was totally unique.
