I did enjoy the writing style. It kept me moving along. The subject material in what the book calls Book 1, Link With The Ages and Book 2, Golden Kingdom, didn't interest me the way the later Books, California or Bust and Westward Passage did. I have never been a reader or student of Central America or South America; US and Canada do keep me moving. If the other Rivers series show the writing style exhibited here, I'll find them enjoyable.

Let's see, 4 or 5 down, a LOT more to go.
