A transcription of Lady Hoby's diary with some notes, illustrations and commentary. The original spelling have been kept and there are frequent footnotes to clarify. Lady Hoby was keeping a devotional diary so most of the entries have to do with how often she prayed, went to church or heard sermons. However, household information does creep in, especially later when her family is involved in a lawsuit against another local family. Two appendices of correspondence.
