Well, I have to say that this was a highly entertaining read. The main character Mira Perrin works for Jeremy Rain during the day and at night she works at the dollar store to help her ill family member. Jeremy walks into the dollar store one evening and winds up getting her fired. At first he doesn’t even realize who she is. When he realizes what he’s done, he seeks her out and offers her a job as his assistant. What happens after that you’ll have to find out because… oh ha!

I really liked Mira, as she had spunk and personality and wasn’t wimpy, yet she didn’t do anything dumb or make really silly decisions. Jeremy, at first you think he’s this macho dumb ass. He stickes his nose in where it doesn’t belong and gets Mira fired, and then he acts like he does her a favor. He saves himself for me because he turns into this really nice guy. I hate to love that about alpha males!!!! I wish that we could have learned more about Mira’s Uncle and how she became his caregiver. Her background is very scarce and is kind of frustrating because you want to know more about her. Jeremy’s background is scarce as well. For me fleshing out background stories are important to make the character more interesting.

This is a interracial romance story just FYI. I’m saying this because at first I didn’t know this. The only reason I knew she was African American was because her braids were mentioned a few times as well as the shade of her skin. I feel disappointed that as a reader I didn’t know that Mira wasn’t African American right away. I think that somehow it takes away from Mira instead of enhancing her character. I liked how Mira and Jeremy’s relationship grew during the time that they were together. The intimacy grew between the two of them which I really love between characters. The intimacy doesn’t have to be just sexual either. People (or characters), can develop intimacy just by getting to know each other day by day. I hope that you enjoy Mira and Jeremy’s story as much as I did!
