The author seems to hate men, not just the patriarchy and constantly rails against them throughout. I found Shekinah's rewriting of myths to be all female to be unbalanced, hard to read and just missing the spirit of the mythology she quotes.

Perhaps in time I will find more to like in this book, but for now it made me angry. The solution to a lack of balance between the genders is not to go to the opposite extreme and eliminate or defame men. I enjoyed this book - more so during the re-reading of it.

It has a deeply feminist slant but the layout of the book is what captured me.

Instead of it being merely "another book on Goddess studies", it was set like a workbook. You had meditations to do, activities to try... all while delving into certain aspects of the Goddess.

It is still a very useful book for me and I bought it nearly 10 years ago!
