Henry Christie is recovering by being shot and contemplating retiring to the village pub with his girlfriend when one more complex, violent crime case comes across hhis desk. Henry is sucked into a very violent criminal gang and has difficulty coping. As always extremely violent, crude language and fast-paced with a question-mark at the very end.

Fast-paced crime set in authentic locations in and around Blackpool. DCI Henry Christie isn't a popular man with his superior who tries everything to make his life difficult starting with a tough assignment to catch a child abductor with an impossibly short deadline to get a result. Part of Henry's unpopularity is his unconventional methods, which frequently deliver results. A series not for the sqeamish or sensitive.

Undemanding read with the standard Henry Christie elements.

This has become a bit of a formulaic series, with Lancashire an unrealistic hotbed of serious international crime. However on the plus side it is good to read a story using real locations.
