The illustrations make this book excellent for new brewers, or those looking to expand their basic knowledge. Step-by-step images walk through sanitation, creating a yeast starter, measuring specific gravity, primary and secondary fermentation, bottling, and kegging. Seven recipes are demonstrated, which become increasingly complex. The techniques include extract and partial mash brewing, but not all-grain mashing.
