With all the Christian books I’ve read/reviewed so far this year, about 45% of the 240 total books, the most inspirational and helpful ones have been the ones which allows an individual to increase their relationship with the Lord and therefore get closer to Him, have been the devotional ones.
Each devotional book, regardless of the time period they’ve been written for, daily, weekly, or for a specific period of time, are geared to take its readers on a journey designed to fulfill a particular need, such as women who have been blessed with a pregnancy, have loss of loved one, or is the case of this book by Katara Washington Patton written for Christian teenage girls going through that special period of time known as their adolescent years.
If you read the book’s dedication it reads:
“I dedicate this book to my daughter, Kayla. May god guide you through your teen years, as well as all of the years you have on earth. I love you— Mama.”
Which is a clear indication that the author wrote this book not only due to her Love and dedication to the Lord, but for her daughter and all other Christian teenage girls that they might be guided by the word of the Lord on their pathway to becoming a Christian woman.
The author accomplishes this by giving her readers a devotional topic where a brief discussion is given, followed by a scripture, that is then followed by prompt where the self-reflection we have them look at themselves as to who they are at the present time and the kind of individual they’d love to become; a process which is designed to have them become that individual through the increased expressiveness and faith they’ve obtained. Of course, each devotional gets ended by a specific prayer to the Lord that deals with the topic they’ve just done.
While this book has been written with Christian teenage girls in mind, it might also benefit those women who are new to the faith so they might learn some of the particulars of what it’s like being a Christian woman from the viewpoint of a teenage girl, or even to benefit those woman who have now been reborn.
For wanting to achieve the above for her readers, as a somewhat voracious reader/reviewer of Christian books I’m to give Ms. Patton the 5 STARS she’s gotten.… (meer)
