There were a few useful bits of information in here, but overall, I didn't feel like I learned very much. I wish it had gone more in depth on some subjects. Instead, there were a few that felt like they were repeated over and over in each chapter.

Highly recommended for people interested in or curious about what librarians do. It offers relevant and helpful information on librarianship as well as practical advice on how to join the profession.½

I read this book for one of my courses in library school. All of the general questions I had about the profession was answered with this book.

"Wikis for Libraries" will give you a great foundation to understanding how wikis are set up and can be useful in a library setting. Pressley goes into detail how a wiki has benefited her library.

Great book if you want to start your career as a librarian.

I really enjoyed reading this book as I prepare to apply for library science school! While the overview of different types a libraries was mostly a refresher for me, as a current library employee, I appreciated the review of how expansive the field of librarianship is. I especially enjoyed the interviews of librarians in different areas of librarianship, and the list of recommended websites in the back of the book is quite good.

I got lots of tips from this book, including things to think about when planning, implementing, and maintaining a library-related wiki. The university I work for provides wiki space for departments and groups, so I signed up for space on it for my unit a while back, but haven't done much with it. Thanks for the inspiration!
