The relation this book has to humans is what I appreciated the most. I think it would be very useful to teach this book to children because it's simplified enough to where they would understand. I think the children would love the pictures because I thought they were very cute.

Who knew there were so many types of monkeys! This book can be used as an eye opener for children. These types of texts can be used to show how primates are closely related to humans based off of their features. A VERY good comparison and contrast book.

The differences in monkeys and apes are explained in ways kids can understand. This is a good book to bring the zoo to kids that the school might not get there otherwise.

This book introduces the different types of monkeys and apes, their anatomy, habitat, what/how they eat and live. It is very informative and is a great book to introduce to your class when teaching about primates, or mammals. I especially love the transparent illustrations included on some of the pages. It makes the animals sort of come to life and it makes learning about the different primates fun and intriguing. I definitely learned a lot from this book.

This is a simple book that gives a general explanation of trains. It explains the different types of trains, the places that they travel, and the types of fuel that they use. For English lessons, teachers can have students do a comparison and contrast of the different types of trains. For math lessons, teachers can use this as an introduction to telling time and explaining why it is important that trains run on time. For science lessons, teachers can discuss the different types of fuels that are used to power trains. Students can also learn about the different types of landforms that trains must travel through. This book has very few words on a page and has big, colorful pictures. There are also transparency pages in the book that change the pictures when they are flipped, which are really fun for young children. The organization is a little difficult to follow because the book randomly goes from one topic to the next, and it is hard to see how they always connect.

This book tells all about monkeys and how they live. It tells what they eat and how they sleep.

I could see this book being very fascinating to children. It was amazing to see how many different types of monkeys there are. I also like how the author points out that humans are also primates like monkeys. I understand evolution isn’t touched on until middle and high school, and this book in a since introduces that concept.

This book provides an interesting overview to monkeys and apes. Although the content is not particularly exciting, it is an effective resource that readers can use to learn more about the subject. The text to image ratio is pretty close to equal, and many of the illustrations are used to identify specific physical characteristics on the animals.½

My 3-yr-old son totally loves this. To me it seems like a pretty formal (but nicely illustrated) listing of different kinds of trains — from historic to modern with an emphasis on speed trains. But to my son there are TRAINS and TUNNELS, and he loves the semi-transparent pages.
