I enjoyed reading Aimee and the Heartthrob so I was looking forward to reading this book which is also about the guys in Seconds of Juliet. Trevin seemed to be a player even in the first book I read and not really caring too much about fans so it was no shock to see that he let Daisy down when he was supposed to be taking her to homecoming. And then the bet he made WOW! I hated him. I could understand completely why Daisy wanted her revenge on him, what girl wouldn't. Will he finally come out of player mode for Daisy and explain why he didn't make the homecoming, will Daisy forgive him. Well I am not going to tell you that but it was a fantastic addition to the series and I really enjoyed reading it.
I really like that we get to know more about the individual band members in each book but I have to say I am in Team Miles still.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

The Winter People is a touching story of friendship and true love. Salome has a massive fear of Winter. Ever since she almost drowned the winter she was six years old and began hearing whispers in the woods, she's kept inside and become panicked if caught out in a storm. Her parents have taken her to therapy to no avail. Because of her fear, she's alienated among her peers, all except for her boy crazy best friend Kadie. This winter her grandparents have tasked her with taking care of their home while they are away. That's when she meets the captivating Nevin, handsome and mysterious. She learns of a family curse and races against time to figure out the answer, while a sinister being continually taunts her and threaten her life. Her eyes are open to a whole other world, one where fairies are at war. Who can she trust?

This was a fantastic urban fantasy, one that drew me in right from the beginning. I loved the way the boys were tied into the story in unexpected ways. It was amazing how courageous Salome became over time. I think Gareth brought out the best in her and I loved the fact that he was completely honest with her, warning her about getting hurt. All in all, this was a beautiful love story, one I'm sure I'll read again.

The second book in any series tends to be seen as a connecting piece, and often wears this title well. Not so much here because book two is just as engaging, just as enraging, just as strong of a contender as the first one...just with a lot more times that I wanted to punch Raul in the face for his utter stupidity. He loves Bri SO MUCH, and yet his dumb male pride, his desire to stand up to the evil forces that are coming, has him making choices that he'd never thought he'd make, with consequences that will echo through BOTH their hearts.

This was was SUCH a TRAGEDY which of course means it fit it's title well, and yet I mean all of that in the BEST way possible! By book's end, I was SO surprised that while things play out that were meant to play out, there are SO MANY MORE THINGS that need to be resolved, and while we thought we said goodbye to a few characters, they may not be so much GONE as they are currently out of the picture. Does everything turn out sunshine and roses? Heck to the NO, but it doesn't mean all is truly lost. It doesn't mean that what was lost can not be found. It doesn't mean that a true beacon of light in the utter darkness is automatically forsaken; sometimes it just needs to see its true value, and appreciate its worth, in order to share its gracious beauty, and strength with all that seek its guidance.

This twisted fairy tale is the story is of Brielle, a 17 year old girl who lives with her grandmother and is training to be a healer. She has grown up with stories of the beast that roams the woods and she often has premonitions of death and even finds a mangled body in the woods. When Lord Kenrick shows up to hunt for the beast, Brielle is determined to help him. There is plenty of action, adventure and romance in this story, although if you don't like gore it might not be the book for you. The twist was interesting the characters were likeable. The ending was great and I appreciate that this was a standalone story and didn't end with a cliffhanger. This a good choice for anyone who likes their fairy tales with some action and some romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher as part of the early reviewers program in exchange for an honest review.… (meer)
