This was frustrating to read and took a lot longer to finish although it's a short book due to constantly having to flip back to previous pages to resolve inconsistencies, errors and contradictions on key facts the author makes in the story.

For instance, Lily tells Gage that Etta verified to her that the mailbag at the rink belonged to Archie but actually Etta only verified Richie's route to her. It was Dax Etta verified the mailbag to as belonging to Richie. Also, Lily tells Gage that Etta told her that Richie first met Noelle in front of Robin's Cafe but actually when Lily asked Etta she said she didn't know! And Lily kept wondering why Archie and Noelle both lied about how they first met when it was only Noelle who actually lied/embellished regarding their first meeting. At first I thought it was me with the memory problems but no, it's the author's inconsistencies.

Also, quite a number of sentences had grammatical errors, missing or misspelled words rendering them nonsensical requiring me to re-read it in order to make sense of it.

Because of these errors, it wasn't all that pleasant of a read. Pity because the mystery is compelling albeit a bit convoluted but the characters are flat, bland, boring and the romance is corny.

The story starts with Lily waking up after having just hit her head. Her cat, Milo, is there to stir her awake. It takes a second for Lily to realise the voice she can hear comes from Milo, and the news Lily is a witch is finally revealed. A murder has been committed and a clue is left in Lily's bookshop. From then on, Lily and Gage attempt to solve the murder mystery while balancing romance and threats. The chapters switch between Lily and Gage so readers gain an insight into the endearing characters as well as a wider overview of the mysteries.
