Cakes for the Queen of Heaven: An Exploration of… door Shirley Ann Ranck
I liked this book's simple take on women's mythological and religious history. Ranck is a Unitarian minister. I became curious about Unitarians when a lady I know informed me in absolute, positive horror that her daughter was going to burn in the fires of hell, because "the Unitarians got her." Knowing the absolute repression in which the daughter was raised, I am sure she--like myself--has done and not been able to believe a number of things her mom feels will end us both up on the crisper.
