In the fashion of 'Goodnight Moon', we see the animals in the surrounding woods all find their way to their beds, and the child watching out the window gets a story read which sends her into her dreams.
Yes, there is a rhyming scheme which can be overwhelming; it is all in the ability of the person reading to avoid any bias toward sing-songiness, and make it a story of parental love.
The pictures are fairly blocky, somewhat like collages in their mix of background and main image, but capture well the various animals and the human intereactions.… (meer)
