The author, a former editor of The Herald, was commissioned by the Moderator of the Church of Scotland to undertake an intensive investigation into all aspects of the contemporary church.This book, written in 2002, led to much discussion at the time. It is worth reading again. Harry Reid made 21 proposals which could revitalise the Kirk.
