This fourth impression of Alan Rimmer's standard work on the Cromford & High Peak was published just as the line closed. The author organised one of the last public trips over the line, and gave an account of this in the closing pages of this impression; at the time of this revision, only a short section of the line, about a couple of miles from Friden to the junction with the Buxton - Ashbourne line at Parsley Hay, remained open, and that closed before the new impression arrived in the bookshops.½
