Stuck in the Passing Lane' by Jed Ringel explores his life from Russia to New York, to Singapore, looking for a new relationship chemistry.

After 23 years of marriage, he leaves his Baby Boomer Comfort zone, dating those who are not known to his Brooklyn-born, middle-class Jewish origins.
Getting a toupee, attending AA meetings, robbed in Russia, having aging parents and 3 teenage daughters and the death of his beloved Alaskan Malamute, the author attempts to write a new user's manual for his life..He has achieved much success in life, but this book adds to his quest for more. It seems his theme song was "is this all there is" and asks the reader to join him for the answers.

I highly recommend this book to all who wonder "What am I doing with my life"? A great gift for those who feel empty since their confront zone moved.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Smith Publicity for the sending me a copy of this book to read and in lieu for my honest opion of this book.

I'll be honest, at first I wasn't sure what the point was. Who was the man and why did we care? Then I started reading it and it was hilarious, I loved the way the Jed Ringel's divorse of course wasn't funny but his quest to find someone to date was just too much. I hope other single middle-aged men haven't had to go through all this to find a date or at least a woman they are compatiable with becasue most be would become flat broke in the process.

I really enjoyed this book and after I got into the book, it was a lot of fun to read.

Over the last few years, Jed Ringel has been trying anything he can think of to start a new relationship after his divorce. From Match.com to Russian mail-order, he's done it all. Here he relates and analyzes his experiences with a somewhat humorous, but also kind of sad-sack and pathetic tone. I felt bad for him a lot of the time, but he seems to realized he's made mistakes and isn't necessarily to be pitied.
The book may be valuable, though, to others trying to navigate the waters of dating after divorce, although as more of a how-not-to than a guide. Readers in a similar situation may also empathize with Ringel and take comfort that they are not alone in their experience.… (meer)
