More about her personal struggles and therapeutic sessions than about her and her partners open marriage experiments. Some rather unbelievable moments (husband comes back from a Sunday night date after 11pm, they need so spend an hour talking over their feelings, and they still have time for a long sex session together after that....don't they need to work the next morning??), that seem like exaggerations. And there's just a ton of self-questioning, self-doubt, problems communicating with others, etc. Winter never really seems to grow much as a person either over the course of the book. It's frustrating to be reading a passage that illustrates her problems communicating with her partner, then have her over-analyze it for several more pages, then repeat the episode later in time.
