This book was about a little girl who struggles to read because of her dyslexia. Her teacher and parents help her understand the condition and show her that she is a brilliant storyteller nonetheless.
This book is a good encouragement to students with dyslexia and a great window for students who are not able to relate to this experience. I would have it in my classroom library.

There are many great things about this book: the helpful guide at the back for those new to autism, the colorful pictures, the mom is so positive and has many wonderful things she sees in her son. I wonder, if the "autism stripe" wasn't pointed out, could this have been a more universal book? We are all different and sometimes those differences really stand out and we may feel odd or left-out, and I think most people feel that way. Or perhaps if autism was stated earlier by the zebra, knowing that it was a tough day because of it, that would have worked more for me? I am not sure, so of course I will run this one by some trusted and knowledgeable friends. May need to update my post after that....… (meer)
