Honestly this book was boring. I mean sure it had the smut value but, it just dwelled too much on the fact that the relationship was taboo. We got it. We read the first book.

I don't know what it is. It just felt like the narrator, was narrating the book as opposed to having POV which was what it was supposed to be. And I just didn't connect with the characters in this particular book. I did in the first book. I understood their plight. But in this book I don't know. It just matter of fact as opposed to telling a story. Does that make sense?

I'm happy with the outcome. Who the father turned out to be. But again there was no blood relation. So don't worry about that if you're going to read the book. And I don't know. I just wasn't as interested in this book.

It normally takes me less than an hour to read 100 pages and this one took me almost 2 days. It tells you how bored I was.

First off I'd like to point out that there is zero blood relation in this entire book. I don't know what book other people were reading but it tells you on the very first page that the father is not actually blood related at all. He raised her yes but he did not have anything to do with her creation.

This book was extremely tame. I have read so many taboo books and this was so tame it's scary how tame it was.

A father figure, an uncle figure, and a best friend. Now when I say figure I mean they're not blood related, and the uncle isn't even part of the family. He's just another friend. None of this was taboo other than the age gap.

Underage and age gap.

But how do we know that she was under age? She's 17. The majority of the states that I know of in the United States the age of majority or pardon me the age of consent is 16. So technically she's not underage at all.

I think in Canada the age of consent is 12 again. That's how sick our government is.

So in reality she was of consenting age to do whatever the hell she wanted to.

and with her birthday being 2 months off of this relationship that started up, she was well within her rights to have any kind of relationship that she wanted to with whomever she wanted to.

Yeah sure society is going to look at her having sex with her father figure as being taboo but again no blood relation. And was there even an adoption? So she's not even technically legally hurt his daughter. So I don't see a problem.

Would I have had sex with my father figure? Hell to the no. But it's not my situation. So I have no room to judge.

On a taboo scale of 1 to 5 I would give this like a 1.5. it's not even taboo. It's just an age gap. Boo freaking who. I think people need to grow up and actually read the book before they judge it. I mean the simple fact that one of the reviews, actually a couple of the reviews, talk about how blood relation is not a good thing to have sex with. Now it would have made sense if anyone in this book was blood related but none of them are. So I don't know what people's problem is.

I really wanted to try and read this book. But it was so boring.

The 2 stars are not because of the taboo or the incest, I knew what I was getting into, it was because the characters were bland, and the storytelling was dull. I would've given it 5 stars if it was executed right, but was I disappointed when that didn't happen.

Frennec - I mean he wasn't bad, but he had the potential to be so much more than just an average hero, or in this case an antihero. I mean recently I've read Killswitch by Penelope Douglas, and she did such an amazing job to make Damon Torrance an antihero, but also to make the reader fall in love with him. This, unfortunately, was not the case with Fren. Also I know it's fiction and blah, blah, blah, but I don't think the description of his sociopathic and psychopathic ways was completely accurate

Vespyr - This was one boring bitch. I couldn't stand her. I don't know if I've read about dumber or more naive heroine, and this is a low, even for the romance genre. Everything she did was so irritating. And wasn't she diagnosed with schizophrenia because of her vivid dreams, once Frennec admitted that he was creating these "dreams", she sould've stoped the pills.

The end felt way too fast-paced and illogical, and the plot twist was non-existent.

I know this book was supposed to create shock and chaos, but the author needed to do a better job.

The only reason why I give it 2 stars is, because of the bravery of Seven Rue to publish this and deal with the backlash, however, the book is not good enough, and I wouldn't read it again.

It's difficult to rate a book on this wild subject matter LOL. It was all smut, no plot which is what I wanted. It wasn't written great and there were a ton of grammar errors but I enjoyed it! It does have a VERY TABOO subject matter so it's not for everyone.
