Hetch oh my goodness where do I start…. Liberty love her, Liam love him but they frustrate me to no end. River creating this amazing duo who will have you in tears from laughing and heartbreak. What a fantastic read. I haven't been this exciting in a book in so long. It captivated me right from the start hoping for a minute you can sneak a page or few. Excited to see what Hetch and Lib are up to next.

Written in both Hetch and Libs views which works and is so satisfying to have both views of their journey and yell at them too. I need more SWAT. Who will be next? Fox and Pay? Sterling and Kota? I know it's a coming… (meer)

Finished Reading August 10, 2015

A little slow moving for me. I liked the characters and it had a great beginning. The middle & end dragged. It just wasn't enough for me.

This was okay. I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything I would particularly recommend. There are other MC romances out there that I would recommend first but if you've already read a few and are looking for more you would probably enjoy it.

The biggest problem I had with it was the quality of the writing. There are different forms of first person present tense and if you don't know how to pick one and stay in it, you should just write in first person past or even, gasp! third person past. This is the tense we all grew up reading and pretty much everyone knows how if works. There were places where the tense changed in the middle of a sentence. There were also problems such as confusion of pronoun and antecedent. For example: "Slapping my hand down on her skin, she lets out a deep groan at my contact." This actually says that the girl has taken his hand and slapped herself with it. It would have been more properly written "I slap my hand down on her skin and she lets out a deep groan at the contact." There are occasionally places where this tense is useful, for example when you are going to kill off your main character. But we all know that in a romance you are pretty much guaranteed that the heroine is going to live so there is absolutely no reason for a present tense of any sort.

Further problems were a lack of details which made me suspect that the MC details were a product of the author's imagination rather than research or first hand knowledge. Maybe I'm wrong and she researched the hell out of this in which case she needs to work on adding detail. The story lacked concreteness. For example she was a teacher but she never seemed to teach except for calling 2 meetings with the hero about his son. And when the hero asked her once how work went she basically scoffed "oh work is just boring old work." So evidently she didn't have a calling...

Characterization was decent and some of the secondary characters were real interesting. Although the hero's ex wife was rather one note.

Strong points were the intimate scenes and the dirty sex talk. Also the heroine was pretty feisty. I particularly enjoyed her kneeing him in the balls when they first met because he wouldn't back off.
