Gotta say... it ends rather abruptly.

Viktor and Aiden have a long history. In high school a 16-year-old Aiden professed his love to 18-year-old Viktor. Unfortunately, Viktor was set on becoming a SEAL and nothing would keep him in a small town, even Aiden. 14 years later they reunite while Viktor is home recovering from an injury. Viktor thinks he’s in trouble for walking out on Aiden, which he is, but the spark is still there. They spend a couple of hot weeks together, but the Navy calls and Viktor goes. Again, leaving a hurting, in love Aiden behind. Two years pass and they are brought together again, when Viktor’s nephew, Ben is found injured in the woods. Aiden is a Sheriff's Deputy and has stayed close to Viktor’s family. He is on the scene when Ben is found and is the contact between the Sheriff's Department and the family. Viktor returns home to be with his family and can’t avoid seeing Aiden. This is really the beginning of the story at the heart of this book. There is serious anger and tension between the two men, they get caught up in a nasty story involving missing ATF agents, hunters, and a very dangerous mountain. Aiden is trying to keep Viktor out of the investigation, partly because he’s being...well Viktor, and partly because he wants Viktor to stay with his family. Viktor is throwing his weight around and calling in favors. He means well but he goes about it the wrong way. They are both stubborn as mules. They do get their act together, finally...but not before hiking up a mountain in below zero weather, facing human trafficators, rescuing ATF agents, and falling in love again. The story is an M/M romance but it's more adventure with the romance mainly thrown in at the last...but it was worth waiting for. I was really a great mystery action story with good guys, bad guys and a really great ending.

Possible Trigger: Violence involving an animal
This is listed as a romantic suspense novel. It does feature two gay characters, but not much actual romance occurs other that they're together. You will have no trouble figuring out that they love one another. Much more emphasis in the story is placed on the mystery & suspense part. If you enjoy stories with intricate plots and more than a little sexual tension but with less "sheet pressing", then this is absolutely your book. Gabriel has recently moved back to his hometown to become the sheriff and also to mend the rift between himself and his family. Tiber also recently moved to Prophet. Both men have situations and memories that they are trying to escape. Gabriel goes to Tiber for help when a murder victim’s dog, Duke, is found near his body. The dog is terrified and Tiber’s expertise with animals is just what Gabriel needs. I've read R.J. Scott's books before but had never read anything by Eli Easton, but once I started this book, I had to finish it. In addition to the murder mystery, the personal situations that each of the main characters found themselves in had me glued to their drama. Gabriel’s situation with his brother, and the reasons for it, was heartbreaking. The murder gets solved, so there is no cliffhanger or continuation on down the line... but I wondered what the authors were going to do with the personal relationship between Gabriel and Tiber as it was only just getting started here. Watching them “dance” around each other was one of the things that I really enjoyed about this book. It just goes to show that a book doesn’t have to be hot and heavy between the sheets to be a really great story. I can’t wait to see how their romance develops over the course of the series, and I certainly hope the authors let it happen. I gave the book 3.5 stars, not because I didn't like the story, because as I have said, I really, really did. If it hadn't been for the violence that the animal suffered, I would have given it a 5-star rating in a heartbeat.½

I feel for the way Xander 'had' to come out but we can almost feel the relief he feels at being free to love whomever he wants, and he wants his best friends little brother Mason.

This is a heartwarming story of the love between Mason and Xander thats hmm been brewing for years, with Xander scared and Mason resigned to never getting his man.

I enjoyed this sports based romance that wasnt full on sports, we saw the lives and trust between team mates and friends.

Excited to see where this series takes us next.

Wow Kyle and Christian's story has some dark moments and intrigue but it is a perfect love story!

I started this and its the first book in a while I read straight through without putting it down.

Second chance at love, snow storms and mystery memories. This is a well written read!

JC & Adrian's story is beautifully heartwarming - the emotion and connection between the 2 men is just popping off the page.

The lies and deceipt from ''others" ( no spoilers) just makes the connection and their story so much better.

Love!! 5 stars!!

TBH I grabbed this because of the author. I do not read a lot of mystery, suspense type books so was unsure how this would go.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, however it was a good read.

It felt like it took a while to read but could be as I could not read it at night time LOL but also the story line while intriguing was a bit slow and I was expecting a HEA not a friends for now and probably would only read next books to get this.

Tiber and Gabriel both have secrets that keep them "lonely" and I think they shared a little but not all ..

This is a YA enemies-to-boyfriends read with redemption and understanding on both parts. Tyler is a sweetie and I googled his pink colour to see what it looked like and we learn more about Jonah as they overcome past hurts.

I love that the story of Felix and Soren is continued through this book but doesn't detract from the new story.

The who dobbed them in was not even on my radar ...and I'm looking forward to Kenjis story next.

Well written YA MM Romance

Gideon and Rowan story there was a few funny moments and a couple of tense moments but overall this is a fluffy light hearted read with little to no angst. I enjoyed it and read.it fairly quickly.

If u have read books 1 and 2 it's pretty similar ..easy to read HEA

This can be read as a stand alone but the series is definitely worth it

Wow, no note that I've read this novel - yet it was highly memorable. The hot policeman, Sawyer, and the hot horror novelist, Chris, in a thriller where the novelist finds a dead body on a walk near his remote mountain cabin where he's gone to finish his latest novel. This was quite un-put-downable, and only partially due to the murder mystery.

RJ Scott, who I've never heard of, created such a powerful pull between these two guys who were not remotely looking for it, expecting it, wanting it. The reader is caught in the middle of forces of darkness - the murder - and the forces of sexual attraction fuelled by loneliness? alienation? separateness?

It's a good novel. I might have given it 4.5 stars if it hadn't had the murder, which is not the strongest part of the work.

I have no idea what this was trying to be, but I guess at least I now know that I don’t need to read any more books by these authors. Mason and Xander are oddly barely on the page with each other, yet they’ve declared their love before the halfway point; there’s truly no character development happening here. Apparently there’s some backstory on Mason that was in a previous book in another series which is so random and doesn’t really get brought up or addressed until over three quarters in. Even after getting together, these two still are barely on the same page; it’s just other stuff happening in their lives, and I didn’t feel anything for them since I didn’t really get a chance to know them. The writing itself wasn’t bad, but the plot structure and lack of character development definitely wasn’t good; oh well I guess duds exist everywhere, and I’m usually pretty positive about books but this pissed me off.

I wanted to like it more than I did. The pacing was off and the narrative was clunky. The hockey aspect was practically non-existent. The characters were bland and the romance was very abrupt. Yes they had history but without it being shown it was just abrupt.

I also didn't realise this was a spin off series and prior series are suggested reading. To some degree it does stand up on it's own but mostly I was just lost in between who these people were and why they mattered and what had happened.

2 stars.

I won my copy of this audiobook so I'm loathe to criticize, but there were a couple of glitches in it, the most noticeable being a chapter cutting off mid-sentence. I have no idea how much was actually missing. Still, I enjoyed the book very much and therefore didn't drop my star rating.

Proprio come i precedenti me ne sono innamorata :)

It's good to see another collaboration RJ Scott and Meredith Russell and the beginning of a new series. Lucas Madison has raised his younger sister, Tasha, for ten years since their parents died. He has fought his way to the top of the corporate ladder but at the cost of his health. Lucas is in the Bahamas with Tasha on a serene little island called Sapphire Cay to end his familial duty by seeing his sister married. He is doing a good job of hiding his ulcers and high blood pressure and the work that he was forced to bring along on this two week holiday from Tasha but he can't hide the sadness in his eyes from the resort's jack of all trades, Dylan Gray. Dylan has his own past health issues and is living life on the fly following the sun and seasons from job to job yet always returning to Sapphire Cay to work. Lucas is amazed by the many jobs Dylan does and Dylan is just plain amazed by Lucas. The two men begin an easy camaraderie but hide all of their baggage well but both men are at a crossroads in their lives which can make or break their slowly growing love. I had a hard time getting into this story because of all the world building that had to be put in place but once the story line was established, the calm and easy life on Sapphire Cay carried me away. The story is definitely character driven and soon had me wrapped up in the slow, laid back life on the tropical island. The story read beautifully but lacked the action usually found in Ms Scott's books which was kind of refreshing after the Sanctuary series. The health issues and the angst were the bad guys in this well written and easy read. Lucas and Dylan were likable and rather intense characters that had me often frustrated by their angst and indecision but they eventually found their HEA in an unusual way. There was not much action around the secondary characters who could have been pumped up a little more to make the story more interesting in my opinion. I recommend this story to anyone looking for a slow burn romance. Ms Scott and Ms Russell have proven that they can write a good romance as a team. I'm looking forward to book two in this easy going series.

Oh what a perfect way to wrap up Sanctuary's involvement in the Bullen case. It's Christmas time and Jake and Kayden have a tradition of spending it at the family's cabin in the mountains. This is no regular cabin but the retired Sanctuary One that was built by Jake's father, Max. A winter blizzard keeps Kayden and Beckett stranded in the city so Jake figures that he'll spend the holiday alone. Sean, the believed double agent, is on the run and his boss sends him to Sanctuary One thinking that it will be deserted. Jake is more than a little hostile and angry when the man with all the answers shows up at the door just hanging onto life. There was a time when Jake thought he and Sean may have had something but that had to fizz out. The HEA is still there for Jake and Sean especially when Sean turns out to be a very different man than everyone suspected. I enjoyed the sentimentality that ran through this story with remembrances of times past when Jake's parents were alive. The fact that Jake is totally alone at the cabin when the very last person that he wants to see arrives brings depth to a story that could have been bland. Sean and Jake are forced to communicate and face truths that neither man really wanted to as the week progresses. The range of emotions that both men feel are written beautifully in this very satisfying wrap up story. There was just enough of a future plan for Sanctuary itself that Ms Scott can write stand alone stories in the future. It was good to reconnect with many of the characters from previous books and to get a better feel for the man steering the entire project. This story is a must read for any fan of the Sanctuary series.

This was the perfect story to put me in the Christmas spirit as it evoked memories of watching the tree in Rockefeller Center being lit and the fun of being in the City at Christmastime. Chris Matthews are an very good teacher who's down on his luck because of a scandal at the school he taught at. He has no where to turn but to his good friend Amelia for a room to live in and a job in her coffee shop. Chris doesn't mind hustling muffins but needs a little Christmas miracle to get back on track. His miracle walks into the coffee shop in the form of a hot N. Y. cop named Daniel Bailey who Chris had tutored seven years ago back in college. It seems though that Daniel is out for more than Chris's muffins. Ms Scott delivered a smooth, well written, feel good Christmas romance. The story is a little different because it is written by dates beginning on November 21st and ending on January 30th which gives the story a nice time line to follow. There are some interesting plot twists and just enough angst to make Chris and Daniel real. Ame is a real hoot and a fun mother type of character who reminds me of an author that I know. The story is fairly short at just under 100 pages but Ms Scott managed to pack in enough action and spice to keep me turning pages and finding her trademark HEA. If you're looking at the days ticking by and just don't feel the spirit, pick up this wonderful, heart warming romance and you'll be looking forward to the holiday again.

Jack and Henry were partners until Henry's career became more important than Jack. After three months apart, the two men are thrown together at a Christmas party by their well meaning but meddling mothers. What happens that night is as magical as any Christmas surprise. I really enjoyed the idea of each author writing a chapter in this sweet short story. The writing melded beautifully and the story read flawlessly. There was nothing really new about the romantic guys break up, guys get back together story line. The HEA was there and so was the warm, happy feeling that these authors always manage to evoke.
