Carol Simpson

There are a number of copyright books dealing wioth educational issues, but we don’t know of any more authoritive than lawyer/teacher librarian/educator Carol Simpson. Ov the years, Simpson has done the best job of understainding both the legal and the educational issues and how to interpret them in a school and school learning commons/library. The issues covered in this volume begin with the copyright law itself and then cover what’s in the public domain, what are licensing agreements, fair use, print materials, audiovisual and multimedia materials, music, distance learning, Internet issues, and computer software. She then turns to practical applications in school learning commons/libraries, getting permissions, managing copyright, copying, administrators, and contains a number of usful forms in the appendicies. Simpson has kept this guide up to date over the years, so, in our opinion, it is the best purchase among the crop of publications. Highly recommended.… (meer)
