First of all thanks to Abhinav Singh to provide me with the book for a honest review and I would say it was pleasant reading this book. This book is about Ashwin and Shruthi Rathore who try to stop a nuclear attack in India. First of I would like to say that the concept of the story is unique and never heard of it which piqued my interest in it. I would suggest people to read the book to know this unique thing that makes this book good. It's a normal story of a R&AW agent serving India to save from threats. Shruthi being a super woman (an R&AW agent) and Ashwin being a scientist worked for a highly classified project who meets death in a very mysterious way. There were some things which were not clear and hope it would be cleared in the concluding part of the book. Overall I would say it was a very unique and a good Goodread... 😊… (meer)

Are you looking for a Sci-Fi which is weaved nicely in a thriller, crime fiction and police-procedural in terms of genre, here is a book for you. But, does it live upto our expectations and is it worth going for? Well, let me share my unbiased review for the same.

Let me confirm that the book was provided by the author, but, it has no influence on the review, as always.

Let us take a bird's eye view of the book plot.
The Plot:
Mahesh Mehta, an IT security expert and one of the most talented hackers of country works for Indian government organization. He was called in by army officer to be a part of a mock drill. It is quite usual for the people working in IB, RAW, Armed Forces, Special Commando Groups and other government bodies to work as a team. And, such drills are also almost regular.

As it is said, "the more you sweat during the training, the less you bleed in the war!"

He is able to break the toughest security barrier and perform the expected task give to him. But, once the operation / mock-drill is over, he sensed that the things are probably not what they look. Obviously, the things are fishy. Eventually, it lead to circumstances when he was found dead!

Shruti Rathore, a former field agent, a tough lady, is pregnant. Her job profile now is restricted to desk job only. Her husband and a brilliant brain, Ashwin is one of the most knowledgable fellow in the field of Science, especially Physics is also working on a remarkable position.

Actually, their love story is something you may feel coming out of a film. But, they got along quite naturally. They are kind of "made for each other " couple.

But, then happens a tragedy which turns the world for this couple upside down!

What was that? And, what it has to do with Mahesh Mehta's death anyway? Well, it is better to explore by reading the book.

Views and Reviews:
It is not easy to write a Sci-Fi. Actually, you need to research a lot, or let us say, understand the principles of various streams. So, whatever you are going to write can look realistic. Abhinav hit the bulls eye here. Of course, it is a fantasy fiction, and so much liberty is taken, but the way the things are presented, is interesting.

This is the first work by Abhinav, but he came up well prepared. His command on the language and the way he explores the scene is something you will like to read. Another aspect of the book which I must mention is the way the strong characters are build. As I am going to avoid all the spoilers (as much as possible), I cannot mention all the strong/weak points of the book. But look at the character of Shruti and the way it is explored. It is a good example of women empowerment in a true sense. I often mention it in many of my reviews that women empowerment has nothing to with the length of the cloth or adulteries. An empowered person is the one who is given the opportunity regardless of his/her gender, cast, financial status or influence; purely based on the abilities. And the person proves his/her abilities via his/her actions. That's all. Abhinav, got the things right in this arena.

Here are some of the interesting pieces of writing from the book, which will give you an idea of what you can expect from the book:

Of course, the book has its weak points like a few proof reading errors. In fact, the central concept of the book is quite superlative and it may not be very easy to accept for every readers. If the fonts of the book are a little bigger, it would have been even better reading experience. A more detailed glossary could have been served well.

A dazzling tale of intrigue it is a riveting adventure across the world .
expertly blending fact and fiction.
This is a great lady spy novel of our time and a haunting and heartbreaking story of greed and violence, , crime and injustice, retribution and redemption that reveals the seemingly insurmountable tensions between the employee and higher-ups she serves. A searing portrait of a lady ‘s courageous, and heroic journey. this book is a masterpiece of full of shocking and surprising twists, leavened by flashes of dark humor, a morally complex and utterly riveting dissection of struggles and challenges she meets in her trajectory.
I like the protagonist Shruti aggressive and courageous lady , an agent in the Intelligence Bureau for all her shrewdness and stubbornness.The episode involving her coming of age story and reaches a top position in the IB. would melt your heart.I also like the sub plot wherein Joginder Chadha a big shot is conned .
Honey trap, kickbacks , treason, felony, bombing, surveillance , infiltration , coding, all these are included in the tale prudently.
Special mention should be made about the good paper quality , printing with sufficient space. The dialogues are superb and they help in enriching the plot.
I like the plot , characters and the theme of this book ,A thoroughly entertaining excursion to the military and intelligence realms
I recommend this book to all action- thriller fans. This classic thriller would definitely give a great entertainment to the readers.… (meer)
