A nifty short biography of a woman I'd never heard of before (I'm not particularly interested in sports) and now am quite impressed by because of her determination and superb attitude. Born in the early 1900s, Mildred 'Babe' Didrikson grew up to win gold medals in the Olympics as well as excel in a variety of sports. I liked the breezy writing style of the author, who had me rooting for Babe in her competitions. I also enjoyed the photographs. This woman did so many different things during her life that I would have appreciated a timeline at the back of the book.… (meer)
